Silk Route: The Ancient Economic Bridge Between East and West  

The Silk Route was an ancient network of trade routes that spanned over 6,437kms. It linked China with the Mediterranean (the region centred around the Mediterranean Sea, bordered by Europe to the north, Asia to the east and Africa to the south) and facilitated the movement of goods, ideas and people. This historical route was used by traders for over 1,500 years from the second century BC until the 14th century CE.
