Construction work has commenced at the world’s largest green hydrogen project in Neom, Saudi Arabia. Neom is a future planned city that will be powered entirely by renewable energy. Its $5 billion hydrogen plant will run on wind and solar energy. The carbon-free hydrogen produced will be shipped to the rest of the world in the form of ammonia. The facility is set to start working in 2025. With this project, the world will reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by three million tonnes per year.
