Indian actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9 in Delhi at the age of 66. Kaushik was best known for his comedy roles and acted in various popular films including ‘Mr India’, ‘Soorma’ and ‘Udta Punjab’. He was born in 1956 in Haryana and started his acting career in theatre before joining the Hindi film industry. An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Delhi, and the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Kaushik made his movie debut in the year 1983 with ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’, a cult classic. He was also a screenwriter, producer and director. He directed films such as ‘Kaagaz’, ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ and ‘Tere Naam’.
