Sara’s Magical Hat

Shashwata Patra, Class 6, Baldwin Girls’ High School, Bengaluru

Once upon a time, there lived a girl called Sara. She and her friend, Philip, were planning to go to a beach in summer holidays. So, they went to the shop to buy the things that they needed to go to the beach. Suddenly, Sara spotted a lovely colored hat in the shop.” It is a very beautiful hat. I think it may help me to shield away from the Sun,” she thought and brought the hat and other things with Philip and came home. After some days, they went to the beach. It was so hot and sunny. So, they rested on the beach, and Sara wore her brand new hat to shield the sun. Then, she found herself in an unknown country, where there was a huge crowd of people. There was a policeman, in the crowd; he asked Sara, “From where have you come and where is your passport?”. She was so shocked and terrified, and unable to utter a word. Unfortunately, she didn’t have her passport with her at that moment. So, the policeman dragged her to the police station. Then, the inspector, a burly man, sentenced Sara to jail. Sara protested and shouted,” I am an innocent girl and I have done no harm. I don’t know how I came here. Please leave me.” Then, she found someone shaking her. It was Philip. “Why are you sleeping in this sunny weather and shouting? Are you unwell?”, asked Philip. Then Sara woke up and saw that she had fallen asleep. It was her magical hat that made Sara fall asleep and led her to a strange dream.
