Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, are in the process of creating robots that function like bees, to help with the pollination process. These newly developed robots are light in weight, more agile and have the ability to fly 100 times the duration of previously developed robots. They have a mass that is less than one gram and can climb and fly skillfully. Their wings are engineered to help them manoeuvre like bees. These robots are expected to enhance agricultural production in the future.
