Dutch politician Rob Jetten has taken charge as the prime minister of the Netherlands, making him the country’s youngest prime minister. Jetten’s Democrats 66 (D66) party emerged victorious by a small margin in the snap elections held in 2025. The 38-year-old succeeded Dick Schoof and will serve as prime minister for four years. Jetten became the leader of D66 in 2023 and has also served as minister for climate and energy policy. He heads a coalition government comprising three parties. In his new role, he plans to focus on various fields, including defence.
