Delhi’s Ripu Daman Bevli, who is popularly known as the Plogman of India, is on a mission to make India litter-free. He runs various campaigns to achieve his goal. In 2016, when he started running long distances, he noticed how there was a huge misuse of resources and plastic pollution at running events. That’s when he introduced the concept of cleaning up while jogging, also called plogging. Bevli and his team pick up plastic, paper, styrofoam, cardboard and thermocol. The collected waste is then segregated and sent to recycling workshops. In 2019, Bevli ran a campaign called ‘RElan Run to Make India Litter Free’ where he ran and cleaned up 50 cities in 50 days.
