The Marketing and Logistics Development for Promotion of Tribal Products from North Eastern Region (PTP-NER) scheme, which aims at enhancing the tribal economy in India’s north-eastern region, was launched by Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda on April 18. The objective of the scheme is to develop the value chain of tribal products and improve their promotion so as to provide tribal artisans with better livelihood opportunities. 68 Tribal Artisan Melas will be arranged in different districts of India’s north-eastern region where artisans will have the opportunity to exhibit their products, thus creating business opportunities.
