What you need to do to become a professor.
Professor

To be a professor, one must clear:

  • Class 12 in any stream
  • 3-year bachelor’s degree specialising in one subject
  • 2-year master’s degree in the field of specialisation
  • PhD in the specialised field
  • University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
Types of Roles: Professor, researcher, assistant professor, head of the department (HOD) and associate professor.
