World Gujarati Language Day is celebrated on August 24, the birth anniversary of Narmadashankar Lalshankar Dave, a renowned Gujarati writer and poet. This day, observed annually, aims to honour and preserve the Gujarati language, which is an important part of Gujarat’s culture. My school celebrated this occasion with great excitement. As part of the celebrations, students from higher classes wrote about the life and works of numerous authors, including Govardhanram Tripathi, Umashankar Joshi, Zaverchand Meghani, KM Munshi and Pannalal Patel. They also prepared charts on Gujarati authors and penned poems. The day reminded us of the contributions of the authors and the uniqueness and value of Gujarati. The event took place in the auditorium and was attended by our respected principal, Mrugen Shah. Sir always encourages us to organise and participate in events such as science fairs, Republic Day programmes and Independence Day celebrations.
