Pesarattu is a crepe-like breakfast favourite from Andhra Pradesh. It is made using whole green moong dal and spices and is packed with proteins.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup whole green moong dal
1cm ginger
1 to 2 green chillies
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt to taste
1 to 2 tablespoons rice flour
Oil for cooking
METHOD
Soak the moong dal for 4 to 5 hours or overnight.
Then grind it with the ginger, green chillies, cumin seeds and salt. Add water to blend everything together and make a smooth batter.
Take the batter out in a bowl, add the rice flour and mix well.
Add water to get a dosa batter consistency.
On a hot dosa tawa, pour a little bit of oil. Place a ladleful of batter and spread it evenly like a dosa.
Cook it well and serve it with chutney or tomato sauce.
