Pervez Musharraf, the former president of Pakistan, passed away on February 5 at the age of 79 in Dubai, UAE. Musharraf seized power in a coup in the year 1999 and ousted Nawaz Sharif as Pakistan’s prime minister. He served as Pakistan’s president from 2001 to 2008. He was Pakistan’s 10th president and served as the seventh chief of the army staff. Musharraf was born in New Delhi and moved to Pakistan after the partition of India in 1947.
