The shutting of the Ganga canal by the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department for maintenance work has led to the uncovering of old railway tracks that were used during the British regime. These tracks, which were hidden under the water of the Ganga, were discovered close to the Haridwar Railway Station. Decreased water levels due to the repair work exposed the tracks, leaving both tourists and locals surprised. Experts believe these tracks aided in the movement of construction supplies during the canal’s construction around 1850.
