A Nepali mountaineer named Nimi Rinji Sherpa scripted history by becoming the youngest individual to scale 14 of the world’s tallest mountains, which rise to a height of over 8,000mts above sea level. Sherpa achieved this feat at 18 years of age after successfully climbing to the top of Shishapangma, which stands at a height of 8,027mts, on October 9. Sherpa hails from a family of mountaineers and his interest in climbing developed as a result. He embarked on his adventure of conquering the 14 peaks called the ‘eight-thousanders’ with the ascent of Manaslu in Nepal in 2022. Sherpa hopes his accomplishments will serve as an inspiration for other Nepali mountaineers.
