On September 4, Sarbananda Sonowal, the union minister of ports, shipping and waterways, inaugurated the Vizag International Cruise Terminal (VICT) at Visakhapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh. The two-floored terminal building covers an area of around 4,580 sq mts and includes numerous facilities such as money exchange outlets, lounges, restaurants, quarantine facilities and parking. The state-of-the-art terminal will be used for cargo operations from April to October and will serve as a cruise terminal from November to March. It is expected to enhance both domestic and international cruise options along the eastern coast of India, boosting tourism.
