A new dinosaur species with blade-like armour was discovered by scientists on the Isle of Wight in the UK. This species is believed to have lived between 66 to 145 million years ago. The newly discovered species belongs to the ankylosaurus family and has been named Vectipelta barretti. It exhibits similarities with the ankylosaurus but has spiked armour and a different back, neck and pelvic bones. The Vectipelta barretti is believed to have been an herbivore.
