Navin Ramgoolam Re-elected as Prime Minister of Mauritius

Navin Ramgoolam, the leader of Mauritius’ Alliance of Change party, has been appointed as the country’s prime minister for the third time after his party won the country’s general elections.

Navin Ramgoolam, the leader of Mauritius’ Alliance of Change party, has been appointed as the country’s prime minister for the third time after his party won the country’s general elections. 77-year-old Ramgoolam, whose political career commenced in the 1990s, also served as prime minister from 1995 to 2000 and from 2005 to 2014. His leadership and economic initiatives played a pivotal role in developing Mauritius’ economic structure. As prime minister, he assured the Mauritian citizens that he would work towards enhancing their quality of life by implementing several reforms including decreasing fuel expenses and raising pensions.
