Nagaland Wins Award for Horticulture 

To recognise Nagaland’s achievements in the field of horticulture, the state was awarded the ‘Best State in Horticulture Award 2024’ at the 15th Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2024 in New Delhi in July.

  • To recognise Nagaland’s achievements in the field of horticulture, the state was awarded the ‘Best State in Horticulture Award 2024’ at the 15th Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2024 in New Delhi in July. 
  • The Nagaland government has introduced effective policies and programmes in the field of horticulture including 13 Farmer Producer Companies, which have enhanced organic farming and provided employment to numerous people in the state. 
  • Among Nagaland’s outstanding accomplishments was the geographical indication (GI) registration of the Naga sweet cucumber, the Naga mircha and the Naga tree tomato, which protects the state’s agricultural specialties. 
  • Additionally, the government has started air cargo services, which transport Nagaland’s agricultural products to other parts of India.
