Parents’ Day will be celebrated on July 28 this year. Parents nurture, support, educate and work selflessly towards bringing out the best in their children. They instil good values in their children and guide them along the right path. SCARLETT RODRIGUES spoke to a few RobinAgers who shared some of their most delightful memories with their parents. They also shared the qualities they admire the most in their parents.

My parents taught me to embrace new experiences. Last year, my family was on a holiday in the Maldives. We engaged in several activities on the beautiful islands. However, I was afraid and unsure of going snorkelling because I did not know how to use the equipment. My parents taught me how to use it and soon I was confident. By the end of my snorkelling experience, I was well-acquainted with the equipment, all thanks to my parents!
The quality I like about my parents is their honesty. I also admire their commitment to their work; they never take any shortcuts.

One of the most unforgettable fun experiences with my parents was my trip to Goa. My parents initially told me we were going to Nashik but at the airport, it was revealed that we were going to Goa instead. We stayed at a beach resort and enjoyed the luxurious experience and the fascinating scenery. We collected vibrant seashells and made sandcastles. We visited a museum and an antique house through which we learnt about ancient Goan culture. We also visited a spice plantation garden, which displayed different types of spices from all over the world.
A quality I admire about my father is that he stays calm no matter what. And the qualities I admire about my mother are her kindness and her loving and supportive nature. I wish to be like them someday.

The memories I will always cherish are from my family’s trip to Assonora, Goa. We stayed in a resort and engaged in many fun activities. My father taught me to cycle during this trip. Though I couldn’t balance and fell a few times, I eventually learnt to cycle. I also learnt to play many new indoor games and board games such as Ludo and Sequence. And I mastered carrom!
My parents are very loving and understanding. They understand what’s going on in my sister’s and my mind even before we express ourselves.

I have had many fun moments with my parents. We enjoy trekking, going on trips, playing UNO cards and board games. The most fun I had was when my father, my sister and I played games in the mall. We played many virtual reality (VR) games like virtual car racing, bike racing and shooting. We scored many tickets in fishing, spin the wheel, UFO and other games. We bought many toys and a gift for my mother with the tickets.
A quality I like about my father is his punctuality. And my mother is the world’s best cook!

A delightful memory I have with my parents is of a trip. Two years ago, we travelled to Kodaikanal during my summer vacation. As I’m an adventurous soul, my parents planned a trek to Pambar Falls. My sister and I were very excited as it was our first trek. We were accompanied by our mother and a guide. We followed the trail to Pambar Falls. The path was slippery and muddy. To our surprise, we saw a gaur’s footprints. We had to watch out! When we reached the falls, it suddenly began to rain. We enjoyed the rain in the falls and clicked many pictures. We came across prickly thorns, poisonous mushrooms, dangerous spiders and many other insects. Our path was filled with slippery and steep slopes. We learnt many life lessons on this trek. Our parents explained to us that though the path to success might be challenging, we must work to overcome challenges, follow where nature takes us and never stop.
The one thing I like about my parents is that no matter what happens, their love for my sister and me is unconditional.

My parents always make sure I’m happy. The road trip to Kerala with my parents on my 13th birthday is an unforgettable experience! The trip was an absolute treasure trove of memories! It was filled with echoes of laughter, picture-perfect moments and endless adventures along the winding roads.
What I love about my parents is the invaluable support they give me, no matter what the circumstances are.
