The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) intends to build an enormous Ferris wheel in Mumbai similar to the London Eye, a world-renowned observation wheel located in London, UK. This project, which encountered numerous obstacles in the past, has been approved by the BMC in its 2025 budget. The Ferris Wheel, called ‘Mumbai Eye’, is expected to be a key tourist attraction in Mumbai, showcasing breathtaking views of Mumbai’s beaches, buildings and other notable sites. The construction of the wheel is expected to be undertaken through a public-private partnership model, however, as it needs to offer visitors a scenic view, the site for its construction hasn’t been decided yet.
