A teacher named Mrunal Ganjale from Pimpalgaon Mahalunge School, located in a zilla parishad in Pune, Maharashtra, was awarded the National Teachers’ Award 2023 by the Ministry of Education. Ganjale was among 50 teachers from across India to win this award and the only teacher from the state of Maharashtra. She was bestowed with this honour for using technology to make learning more engaging, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ganjale began teaching at Pimpalgaon Mahalunge School in 2018 and made use of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and other innovative methods to enhance students’ understanding of different topics. The 34-year-old was also the recipient of the National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Award in 2019.
