Vedant Harlalka is a 16-year-old student from St Mary’s School (ICSE) in Mumbai. He is an innovator and TEDx speaker who is passionate about coding, Arduino and the Internet of Things (IoT). He was part of a group that invented a low-cost automatic hand sanitiser dispenser during the first COVID-19 lockdown. He also invented a pocket-sized, sensor-based ruler and an economical 3D printer using recycled materials. His efforts have been recognised by numerous newspapers including the Hindustan Times and the Navbharat Times. He has received several awards for his innovations including the IFortis Worldwide Rising Star of the Year 2021.
