Meet the Metro Man: E Sreedharan

Elattuvalapil Sreedharan, better known as E Sreedharan, is responsible for transforming the public transport sector in India. He is globally known for overseeing the building of the Konkan Railway and the Delhi Metro projects. Often referred to as ‘The Metro Man’, Sreedharan was awarded the Padma Shri in 2002 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. The French government awarded him with the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur–the highest French order of merit for both civilians and the military–in 2015.
