Maharashtra’s ‘One State, One Uniform’ Policy

The Maharashtra government has decided to implement the ‘One State, One Uniform’ policy across all government-run schools in the state from 2024-25.

December 01, 2023

The Maharashtra government has decided to implement the ‘One State, One Uniform’ policy across all government-run schools in the state from 2024-25. Under this policy, students from classes 1 to 8 across the state will wear standardised uniforms so that they have an identical appearance. The government will procure uniforms for students across the state centrally in a bid to improve the quality of the uniforms and decrease their cost. Each student will be given two sets of uniforms, one of which will be a scouts and guides uniform. The uniforms will be a combination of sky blue and dark blue and students are expected to receive them on the first day of the 2024-25 academic year.
