The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 ended with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing a majority of 292 seats out of the Lok Sabha’s 543 seats.
NDA’s main opposition, the Indian National Congress (INC)-led Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) secured 232 seats.
As no party was able to reach the 272 majority mark on its own, a coalition government was formed.
Narendra Modi was unanimously elected as India’s prime minister by the leaders of the NDA, making him the second prime minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to secure a third consecutive term.
