We make lists all the time—we write down some lists and some are just mental lists of things we need to do or tasks that we want to complete that we tick off in our mind. List poetry, which has been popular for thousands of years, is simply poetry that contains a list of objects, people, places or ideas.

How to Write a List Poem: A list poem may or may not rhyme. Sometimes, a list poem has a repetitive phrase that appears again and again. Many list poems start with a couple of lines that introduce the subject. This is followed by the words that make up the list itself and finally, at the end, there
