I had a cup of tea today,
Steaming warmth in my hands,
A pause from all the rushing world,
As time obeyed my plans.
The water swirled, the kettle sang,
A tune so soft and clear,
I took a sip, the worries paused,
And everything felt near.
The sun slipped through the window pane,
A quiet golden beam,
And for a while, the day stood still,
As if within a dream.
No bigger things to weigh me down,
No problems to undo,
Just me, the tea, the gentle light,
And peace in what I knew.
