- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets In the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket final played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
- This is the third time KKR has won the finals.
- As winners, KKR took home `20 crore; and SRH received `12.5 crore.
- In the IPL auction for the 2025 games, every team will only be allowed to retain four players from their current squad.
- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Tata Group also took up a great initiative during the 2024 IPL playoffs and finals. The two have promised to plant 500 trees for every dot ball during these four games; there were 294 dot balls, which means close to 1,50,000 tree saplings will be planted.
