Keshub Mahindra, Mahindra and Mahindra’s retired chairman and India’s oldest billionaire, passed away at the age of 99 on April 12. He became the chairman of the group in 1963 and was succeeded by his nephew Anand Mahindra after his retirement. During his 48-year tenure as the chairman of the Mahindra Group, the company diversified into a variety of businesses including finance and real estate. Mahindra also played an important role in forming business partnerships with global companies. According to Forbes’ list of Billionaires 2023, Mahindra had a net worth of $1.2 billion.
