The foundation of India’s first digital science park was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on April 25. The project, which costs approximately ₹1,500 crore, will come up at Technopark Phase IV-Technocity in Thiruvananthapuram and is expected to be completed in two years. The facility will include amenities to enable the development of various products in areas such as data analytics, smart materials and artificial intelligence (AI). This third-generation science park will act as a key research facility and will develop digital products and services for businesses and industry in partnership with universities.
