By docking two satellites in space, India followed USA, Russia and China as the fourth country to achieve this remarkable feat. This initiative was carried out by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX). As part of this mission, two spacecraft named Chaser and Target were sent to space from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh on December 30. Space docking is a complicated procedure that involves connecting two spacecraft in orbit. ISRO managed to dock Chaser and Target on January 16, marking a major step in India’s space endeavours. This achievement is a significant step towards upcoming space missions including lunar exploration missions.
