Indian-origin Student Bags Informatics Olympiad Gold

A student of Indian origin named Agastya Goel bagged a gold medal at the 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), which is among the most difficult programming competitions in the world.

A student of Indian origin named Agastya Goel bagged a gold medal at the 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), which is among the most difficult programming competitions in the world. Agastya earned 438.97 out of 600 points and was among the 34 gold medal winners at the competition. He attained the fourth overall spot in the event, which took place in Egypt this year. Agastya resides in California, USA. His father Ashish Goel was the Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) topper in 1990. This is the second time Agastya has secured a medal in the IOI, which is held annually.
