India is set to host the maiden edition of the Kho Kho World Cup, which will feature participants from 24 countries across the world, in 2025. This announcement was made by the International Kho Kho Federation and the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) on October 2.
16 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams from six continents are expected to take part in the event. The tournament will span a week and is expected to give kho kho global recognition.
The KKFI intends to promote kho kho among youngsters by introducing the sport in 200 schools in India before the commencement of the World Cup.
By organising this World Cup, KKFI hopes to secure a spot for kho kho in the 2032 Olympics that will be held in Brisbane, Australia.
