India and South Korea are set to bolster their ties following bilateral talks between the two countries and the signing of numerous memoranda of understanding (MoUs). These developments took place during South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s visit to India in April and cover several domains, including technology, finance, trade and defence. Among the highlights of the countries’ engagement was their focus on upgrading the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the introduction of the Economic Security Dialogue and collaborations for initiatives in defence, space, maritime and several other fields.
