Incredible Indians: 75 People Who Shaped Modern India by Ashwitha Jayakumar

This book has been thoughtfully divided into 13 sections about different types of people including politicians, industrialists, green warriors and literary geniuses. Each section profiles three to seven people who have played an important role in developing and propagating their specific area of expertise. We found the section on soldiers and spymasters the most interesting. While the book features some well-known names, it is interesting to read about some less famous yet important personalities like Bismillah Khan, Ismat Chughtai and Kodandera Madappa Cariappa. All in all, it is a great book that brings readers up to speed with those who shaped new-age India.
