I eagerly look forward to the summer vacation every year. This vacation, I want to work towards becoming a proficient swimmer. I want to master different swimming strokes. I also want to learn to use the hula hoop and become a hula hoop expert. I will attend Bharatanatyam classes and spend time practising at home. As I want to improve my vocabulary, I also plan to read many books. I love books authored by Sudha Murty. I plan to read ‘Grandma’s Bag of Stories’ written by her.

I plan to learn the Hindi and Gujarati scripts during the vacation and wish to speak these languages fluently. Learning these languages will help me connect with my culture. I also enjoy skating and wish to master it. So, I will spare time every day to practise skating. My mother cooks delicious food, which the family enjoys. I will spend time helping my mom in the kitchen and learn different recipes so that I become a great cook just like her!

Summer holidays are fun. But if we don’t keep ourselves engaged, boredom sets in quickly. This vacation, I plan to dive into many new books. Mac Barnett’s ‘Kid Spy Book 4’ is one of the many books on my reading list. I wish to make mug cakes along with my friends. I enjoy baking as there’s something yummy to eat once done! I love movie nights and I am all set to host one for my family and friends. Who doesn’t like making a huge pillow fort to play in? Another fun activity I am looking forward to is creating my own board game. I wish to travel to many places too! I also want to organise a lot of sleepovers with my friends. These activities will not only keep me entertained, but will also help me make the most of my summer.

I will be visiting my mother in Doha, Qatar, during the vacation. I plan to visit different places in Doha. My friends have moved close by so I am excited to play with them. I will play outdoor games including football and badminton. I will also go cycling. I love playing the guitar. I will practise playing the guitar during the vacation to enhance my skills. My friend owns an acoustic guitar, which I look forward to learning.

I love to spend time with my friends and interact with other children. During the vacation, my cousins from England will be visiting my family and I look forward to their company. I have a six-year-old cousin brother whom I love talking to. I am excited to meet him and teach him new things. I love swimming and I have participated in many competitions. I plan to practise swimming and participate in many national and international swimming events. I will be in middle school in the coming academic year. I wish to improve my math skills during the vacation so that I can be prepared in advance and excel in the subject during the year. I also want to expand my friend circle. So, when I participate in outdoor activities like cricket, football and badminton in the park or my colony, I will try to make new friends and get to know them well. I also love reading and plan to read many new books during the vacation.

I am passionate about football. My friends and I trade and collect football cards. I find it very fascinating. I will play football, cricket and online games with my friends during the vacation. I also plan to help my mom with household chores. I will visit my cousins and spend time with them on the weekends. When I visit my cousins, we usually spend time outdoors, which I look forward to. I have been playing the violin for the past three years so I will continue practising the violin during the vacation.
