- Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who was part of the Axiom-4 mission, scripted history by becoming the first Indian to travel to the International Space Station (ISS). He is also only the second Indian to journey into space; Rakesh Sharma was the first.
- Axiom-4 includes four crewmembers of different nationalities, with India’s Shukla as the pilot. It launched earlier this month from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA.
- The mission, a collaborative endeavour between SpaceX, NASA and Axiom Space, will facilitate research on various topics including microgravity.
- More than 60 experiments will be carried out, helping scientists analyse how space influences various systems.
