The World Health Organisation (WHO) has established global standards for meals served in schools, aiming to promote nutritious and healthy food habits among children. These standards intend to increase children’s access to healthy food in schools, develop nutritional awareness and motivate them to develop healthy eating habits early in life. Through this initiative, the organisation aims to highlight the role of healthy food choices in the ability of children to learn and also in their development in the long-term. It also aims to tackle malnutrition, obesity and other health issues among children, promoting their growth.
