A team of European scientists recently found that there are numerous more chemicals present in plastics than what was estimated earlier. In a new study, scientists discovered that plastics have around 16,000 chemicals out of which over 4,000 chemicals are extremely hazardous and can adversely affect not only the environment, but also humans. As per the study, many chemicals used in plastic products are unregulated. Hence, scientists are advocating the need to identify and regulate the harmful chemicals used in plastics.
