An artificial photosynthesis process, which produces hydrogen by making use of recyclable catalysts, was developed by scientists at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The chemical process replicates photosynthesis to create pure green hydrogen at a low cost and without the need for an energy source.
Five sets of catalysts that produce a huge quantity of hydrogen efficiently with the help of sunlight were developed by the scientists. With this technology, hydrogen could be produced for use as fuel in automobiles and industries, thus reducing pollution.
