These delicious Turkish stuffed flatbreads are a must-try for kids and adults!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups chopped spinach
1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, crushed or finely chopped
100 grams feta cheese
3 tablespoons grated regular cheese (optional)
Salt to taste
Seasonings of choice (like chilli flakes and black pepper)
Olive oil
METHOD
Knead the all-purpose flour with some salt, oil and lukewarm water.
Let it rest for an hour.
Meanwhile in a bowl, add the chopped spinach, onion, garlic, feta cheese and seasonings.
Mix it all well.
Make a small ball from the kneaded dough and roll it out.
Add the stuffing on one half of the rolled dough and cover it with the other half. Seal the dough, making sure the edges are sealed properly.
Heat a pan or tawa, put the stuffed gözleme on it and cook well on both sides till they turn golden brown.
Cut them into pieces and enjoy them hot.
