Lord Gautama Buddha,
Was born as Siddhartha.
He wanted to know the true meaning of life,
And so he set out without caring about his family and wife.
He wanted to find eternal treasure,
So he rejected all the earthly pleasure.
Buddha used to meditate,
With total dedication.
One fine day he attained enlightenment,
In Bodh Gaya’s peaceful environment.
Sitting under the Bodhi Tree,
He got all the answers.
Now he decided to spread his knowledge,
And so he traveled village to village.
Buddha had many disciples,
Even the nobles were visible.
He treated everyone equally,
For him, no one was mighty.
From then onwards, Buddhism spread like wildfire,
Everywhere, people were to be seen in the buddhist saffron attire.
We all have great lessons to seek from him,
