From The Future And Back

Vaani Agarwal, Class 5, Kunskapsskolan School, Lucknow

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Tara. She loved everything about science and mechanics. It was her dream to invent a time machine. For years, Tara worked hard in her basement. She had nearly lost hope when she actually did it. Tara actually went ahead and made a time machine! It was shaped like a circle and was covered in designs and buttons. In the center of the machine was a single black circle which you walk through to travel back and forth in time!

Tara decided to travel 30 years in the future to see what it would be like. She was scared but she was also excited so she did it. She put the settings on her time machine to 30 years in the future. She walked through her time machine and gasped. It actually worked! She was in a completely different place. She was standing by a river. There was a city nearby.

Everything had gone to plan except for one thing. Tara couldn’t remember anything about herself! She had forgotten who she was. She looked at the river and noticed a bottle in the water. Tara took the bottle out of the water and opened it. The bottle had a message inside. It said ‘My name is Tara’. It also had a phone number on it.

Tara gasped again. She had gotten her memory back! She was the one who wrote this message and she had found it it her future. Tara decided to go to the city. There were huge skyscrapers, flying cars, electric wings and robots everywhere! Tara was in awe. As much as she wanted to stay she knew she had to go back home. Her parents must be worried sick. Tara went back through the portal which was still open to her basement.

She squealed with happiness when she realized what she had done. She had invented time travel! Do you want to know how it all ended? Let me tell you. First, Tara sold the time machine to the government and wrote a book about her adventure, both from which she made a lot of money. Tara didn’t stop there. She grew up and became an engineer and continued to invent.
