Forests have been an integral part of our ecosystem since the dawn of time. They have been keeping the balance of nature since the time of our ancestors. They have been providing us and the animals with food and shelter, which was very important to our ancestors. They have also created rain patterns which are important for a thriving ecosystem. Not only this, but they have been maintaining the balance in the levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide. They have in turn created the food chain which gives energy to all heterotrophs including us.
Yet despite the benefits, humans have been cutting down forests for various needs such as space for farming, lumbering, and many other things. This has numerous adverse effects on our environment. Without forests, the animals will face many problems such as habitat loss and lack of food, which will ultimately lead to the extinction of many animals.
Deforestation has negative effects, not only on animals but also on humans. We would succeed in poisoning the atmosphere, loss of soil, frequent floods and pandemics, just to name a few.
There is only one way to prevent all of these issues and that is planting trees! For every tree we cut down, at least two trees must be planted. Afforestation is the only way to save our ecosystem. So remember everyone :
Save the trees, save the earth!
