Prominent Indian physician and scientist Dr Subhash Babu has been honoured with the prestigious Bailey K Ashford Medal for 2022 and the Fellow of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (FASTMH) award for 2022. The award is given to researchers for their distinguished work in tropical medicine. Babu has been working on the immunology of human helminth (parasitic worm) infections and TB. This is the first time in 82 years that an Indian has been given this award.
