To make educational assessments more captivating, numerous schools in Kerala’s Kochi have started using emojis instead of marks. This transition aims to reduce the pressure linked with grades and marks and promote holistic learning. This new system has been adopted by schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This assessment shifts the focus from written tests to projects and other practical activities, which adheres to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and has been implemented for students from pre-kindergarten to class 2.
