Dubai has begun building a new passenger terminal at the Al Maktoum International Airport, which is set to be the world’s largest airport terminal. The terminal will be built at a cost of around $35 billion and upon its completion, Al Maktoum International Airport will be able to accommodate 260 million passengers annually, the largest capacity in the world. The airport will have five parallel runways and 400 terminal gates and is expected to be five times bigger than Dubai International Airport (DXB). DXB is one of the world’s busiest airports and all of its operations are expected to be transferred to Al Maktoum International Airport in the future.
