Dubai plans to start its air taxi service in 2026, which is expected to enhance transportation in the city. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has entered an agreement with Joby Aviation, a USA-based company that develops electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, to start the air taxi service to improve connectivity across the city. Joby Aviation has obtained exclusive rights to operate air taxis in the city for six years and plans to begin trials in 2025. Skyports, a British company, will design and construct four vertiports in Dubai where passengers can get in and out of the air taxis.
