To prevent disruptions in learning caused by fog, heatwaves and other weather conditions, the Delhi government has planned to introduce a hybrid learning model in all government schools. The hybrid learning model combines the Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) initiative, an online learning model that was launched by the Delhi government in 2022, with an in-person learning model. Atishi Marlena, Delhi’s education minister, directed officials to come up with this hybrid learning model so that students who cannot reach school due to bad weather conditions do not miss out on important lessons.
