Christina Koch will be among the four National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronauts who will be part of the Artemis II mission to the moon in November 2024. Koch, who was part of the first all-woman spacewalk in 2019, will be the first woman to orbit the moon. With a total of 328 days in space, she also holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman. She will be the mission specialist on Artemis II. Koch studied at North Carolina State University in North Carolina, USA. She commenced her career as an electrical engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and served as a flight engineer on the International Space Station (ISS) for Expedition 59, 60 and 61.
